Code of Conduct
The Committee of the Spotswood Football Club (SFC) along with the Coaching Staff & Players is committed to promoting the positive image of the SFC in a professional manner and proper conduct. With these aims in mind the above stated bodies have agreed to formulate this Code of Conduct for the SFC Officials, Players and Members.
This code seeks to promote and strengthen the good reputation of Australian Rules Football, the WRFL Football Competition, the SFC and all associated Members by establishing the standard of performance and behavior of all concerned. In addition, it seeks to deter conduct, which could have an adverse effect on the standing and reputation of the SFC, the SFC Administration Staff, the SFC Coaching Staff and the SFC Registered Players.
SFC Officials, Players and Members must show due regard for the property and facilities of the SFC, the WRFL and WRFL clubs and staff of those bodies and their property. Where a SFC Official, Player or Member breach this provision, he/her shall pay the relevant person or body an amount equivalent to the cost of repairing or replacing the damaged property and/or facility.
SFC Officials, Players and Members must refrain from the taking of illicit and/or performance enhancing substances and must comply with the WRFL Rules and the Anti-doping code which prohibits the taking of such substances. SFC Officials, Players and Members must at all times behave in a sportsmanlike manner and uphold the highest standards of conduct so as not to compromise the integrity and dignity of the SFC. This behaviour extends to all Club Officials, Club Umpires and Official Umpires.
Racial and Religious Vilification along with Theft from the SFC, any other Club or from Individuals will not be tolerated by the SFC or WRFL. Any person found to have vilified another person or found to have stolen any item will need to front the SFC Committee along with any other directives from WRFL or appropriate body. Bullying or any type of discrimination is not acceptable behavior in todays communities, any person found to have bullied or discriminated against, they will also have to meet with the SFC Committee along with any other directives.
The SFC is a Family Club; we encourage all involved at SFC to bring their families along to the club. Our club expects all Officials, Players and Members to behave in a responsible, mature and appropriate manner. Offensive or aggressive behavior is not acceptable, loud or abusive language and swearing will not be tolerated.
